Imagine curling up and reading a book on a cosy lounge eating fudge. Sound tempting? Well it's time to experienced all the offerings of Two Story Bed and Breakfast on the South Coast of NSW.
Tilba is the quintessential cottage town with quaint and interesting stores everywhere you look. The town is protected by a Heritage listing which means a walk down the street is like stepping back in time.
The history starts at your front door where the Old Post Office stands which has now been restored as the Two Story Bed and Breakfast. Right next door you will find Bates General Store which has ties back to the 1800's, but today offers up some tasty treats like Mrs Jamiesons Home Made Fudge.
Tilba is not just a cottage town though, it is set at the foot of Mt Gulaga and amidst the beauty of the South Coast, so make sure you explore nature as well. A visit to Foxglove Gardens is a must. This enchanting property encompassing 3 1/2 acres of exquisite open gardens which embrace a fairy tale like charm & quaint English style elegance. With each season there are new wonders & floral delights to explore.
If food and wine is more your thing, maybe you can take the short drive to Tilba Valley Winery and Alehouse. This little oasis in the woods is a family run boutique winery scenically located at the foothills of Mt Gulaga on the shores of the beautiful Corunna Lake. You can sample some of their local wines and ales at the bar, enjoy a light snack or full meal. Some weekends they have live music to enjoy as well.
By now you will have worked up an appetitie so why not head out to the Dromedary Hotel for dinner. This gorgeous old country pub dates back to 1895 and under new ownership they claim not to serve your "average pub grub". Popular favourites include Chef Chris’ homemade chicken schnitzel with some new winter warmers added such as the balsamic tomato braised lamb shanks.
At the end of a busy day you just want to be comfortable, so you will be glad to know that all of the rooms at Tilba Two Story feature comfortable seating and cosy beds.
After a good nights sleep you will need a hearty breakfast and guests of the B&B can enjoy breakfast in the dining room which overlooks the garden. There is still so much more to see and do in Tilba and the surrounding area, so why not stay another night and enjoy all the town has to offer
